Quick answers to the questions new — and returning — families ask most.
Getting to school
How do we get to and park at Hume-Fogg?
Everything — public transit, walking, driving and drop-off — is on our Parking & Getting to Hume-Fogg page.
What are the arrival and dismissal times?
The morning school zone runs 7:30–8:15 a.m. and afternoon dismissal runs 2:45–3:30 p.m. on Broadway in front of the school. For the full daily bell schedule, see the school website.
Is there a bus?
Yes, and it’s free. All MNPS high-school students ride WeGo buses and trains free with their student ID, and several routes stop right by Hume-Fogg. Details and route maps are on our Parking page and the school’s transportation page.
The first days
When is Open House, orientation and the first day?
Dates are posted on the school calendar — check the Hume-Fogg calendar, and our own Calendar for Association events.
How does my student get their schedule and find classes?
Schedules are shared through the MNPS Campus Portal. Counselors help students get settled in the first week — see Hume-Fogg Counseling.
What supplies does my student need?
Most supply needs are shared by teachers in the first week through class syllabi and the first-day folder, since they vary by course load. Watch that folder and your student’s teachers for specifics.
Food and payments
What about lunch — is it free?
MNPS provides breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students through its Nutrition Services program. Browse menus and nutrition information on the MNPS Nutrition page.
How do I pay school fees or add money to an account?
Through MNPS Online Payments, which links to School Cash Online for school fees and My School Bucks for meal accounts.
The Association and getting involved
Do I have to join or pay to be in the PTO?
No. Every Hume-Fogg family is part of the Hume-Fogg Association. Involvement and giving are always welcome but never required. If you’d like to give, the INVEST campaign is our one annual ask.
